Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Peppy Taps — from how the system works to installation, filters, warranty and where to buy.

About the products

How Peppy Taps work and which model is right for you.

How hot is the boiling water?

All Peppy Taps deliver filtered water at 98 °C — hot enough for tea, coffee and cooking, while staying just below true boiling point for added safety. The integrated touch-control panel on the Signature Collection lets you dial the temperature down through eight settings from 75 °C up to 98 °C, so you can get the right brew temperature for green tea, French press or full boil.

How does the chilled water work? What temperature is it?

Filtered chilled water is delivered between 4 °C and 14 °C via a built-in cooling unit that sits under your sink. There's no need for a fridge or a separate water cooler — just push the chilled control on the tap.

How does the sparkling water work?

Chilled sparkling water is available on the Signature 5 in 1 only. It's produced by injecting food-grade CO₂ into the chilled water stream from a refillable cylinder housed in the under-sink unit. CO₂ cylinders are widely available and easily swapped — no specialist install required.

What's the difference between the Signature and Flagship collections?

The Signature Collection uses touch-control technology with an integrated digital panel — it's also the only collection that offers a 5-in-1 model with chilled sparkling water on demand.

The Flagship Collection delivers the same engineered reliability in a cleaner, lever-controlled form, designed for kitchens where the tap should disappear into the design. Both collections are available in all five finishes.

What's the difference between Ambient and Chilled?

Ambient is filtered water at room temperature — straight from the mains, through the filter, no cooling. Chilled is filtered water that's also been cooled to between 4 °C and 14 °C by the under-sink unit. Some 4-in-1 models give you the choice of one or the other; the Signature 5-in-1 includes both.

Why would I choose the pull-out option?

The pull-out hose extends about 60 cm from the spout, making it easier to rinse vegetables, fill tall pots, and clean the sink itself. The Signature and Flagship Pull Out 4-in-1 models offer this convenience without compromising on boiling, chilled or filtered functions.

Installation & set-up

What you need to know before booking a plumber.

Do I need a plumber to install my Peppy Tap?

Yes — installation must be carried out by a licensed plumber. The under-sink unit needs to be connected to mains water, fitted with the supplied filter, and connected to a power outlet. A standard install takes 2–3 hours.

What does my plumber need on installation day?

To install a Peppy Tap, the install location must have:

• A 10 amp power outlet within 1 m of the install location
Hot and cold mains water connections within 1 m
• Adequate space under the sink for the under-bench unit (refer to your model's spec sheet for exact dimensions)
• A 35 mm tap hole in the benchtop (or one drilled by a tradesperson — note that we cannot drill into stone)

Can a Peppy Tap be installed in a stone benchtop?

Yes, provided the existing tap hole is the standard 35 mm diameter (or has been pre-cut by your stonemason). We do not drill into stone on install day — if your stone benchtop doesn't already have a hole, you'll need to arrange this with your stonemason before our installer arrives.

Does Peppy Taps work on tank water?

No — Peppy Taps are designed for use with mains water only. Tank water sediment, mineral content and bacteria load are outside the design parameters of the filter and pump system, and installing on tank water voids your warranty. If you're on tank water and want to discuss options, please get in touch.

Filters & water quality

Keeping your water tasting great year after year.

How often do I need to replace the filter?

Every 12 months for optimal water quality and flow rate. The filter removes chlorine, sediment and a wide range of common contaminants — over time these reduce flow and affect taste, so an annual swap keeps things at their best.

Where can I buy replacement filters?

Replacement 2CB5-S filter cartridges are $179 and are available from any Peppy Taps retailer (Harvey Norman, Reece, Tradelink) or directly from us. View the filter cartridge.

How easy is it to replace the filter?

It's a 5-minute job — no plumber required. The filter housing is accessed under the sink, the old cartridge twists out and the new one twists in. Step-by-step instructions are included with every replacement.

Does the filter remove fluoride or other specific contaminants?

The 2CB5-S removes chlorine, chloramines, sediment, scale, lead, microplastics and a wide range of common impurities while preserving healthy minerals. It does not remove fluoride. If you have specific water-quality concerns — bore water, hard water, or unusual mains supply — please get in touch and we'll talk you through your options.
